London, 18th century. Gossip is rife in the centre of fashionable society. Two brothers – the elder a smooth hypocrite and the younger a reckless but generous spendthrift – are put to the test by their long-lost uncle as to who is the most virtuous… all the while battling with the vicious rumours and salacious scandal brewing around them. Who will be rewarded with happiness and love? Sheridan’s fast-paced comedy of manners, The School for Scandal is a lively ridicule of affection and pretentiousness.

The School for Scandal ran for limited previews at Hampton Hill Theatre before running at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (theSpace @ Niddry St) between the 14th and 19th August.
